Welcome to our first Newsletter for 2010
Thank you to all of you who made the trip through the snow to visit our stand at the London Excel Boat Show at the start of January. Despite the weather it was our best Boat Show for two years; and the bookings which followed certainly seem to give the impression that some confidence is returning to the UK market. This general air of confidence has meant that the flight prices to date are slightly higher then they were in 2009 because there are not as many seats available for sale. If intending (or having) to buy your flight seats independently of our flight and transfer inclusive package please try to avoid leaving this to the very last minute as some weeks are already fully sold out. At Sunvil Sailing we have always given a good discount for not only booking early but for booking directly with us and by using our on-line booking form. Depending on the destination, departure date and type of holiday package being booked this discount can be anything from 10-20%; and in this instance you will get exactly the full package you require. For Greece this will include our own flights from either Gatwick or Manchester direct to our local airport Prevesa, and our airport transfers to accommodation and/or yachts. Over half of our shake-down cruise commencing Sunday 2nd May is already booked by repeat clients who usually come out for the first week of the season and by now all know each other quite well; however I still have a few spaces for Learn-to-Sail/Pot-Luck available and can bring in extra yachts if required for flotilla/bareboat charter.
Just a reminder that in Greece we have many more yachts available for charter then our own in-house fleet. Although these are booked on a bareboat basis there is NO EXTRA charge for joining our flotilla. We have access to virtually the whole range of Bavaria Yachts; all at competitive prices and with an average age of only five years. Please ask us for a quote either as part of a fully ATOL bonded flight and transfer inclusive package or for a yacht only price but still with that element protected under our AITO bonding scheme. Don't forget we can also put together a two-week package with one week afloat and second week ashore in a large choice of properties in four resorts. For those who don't want to live on a yacht we still have our shore-based sail training and day-boat hire programmes from Lefkas Island.

The following prices are for the sailing element only - flights and transfers not included. To check out flight prices to our local airport Prevesa (PVK) - approx one hour transfer to our yachts - from either Manchester or Gatwick please check the web for such sites as Lantis World and Satellite Travel which are currently showing flights from £220 return. The cost of a taxi from Prevesa Airport to our sailing base is Euro 50 each way. However, please contact us before booking your flights and let us know how much you have been quoted because if we have any spare capacity we will match this price if possible and in this instance we will also provide a much cheaper transfer and, of course most importantly, the whole package will be ATOL bonded. All prices quoted on this newsletter refer to bookings being made directly with Sunvil Sailing (after confirmation of availability) using our on-line booking form.
Pot-Luck/Learn-to-Sail Sunday 2nd May, 9th May and 16th May
1-week £245 per person (Normal Price £300pp) 2-weeks £450 per person (Normal Price £600pp)
Our Flight and Transfer inclusive brochure price for these weeks is £717 per person for 1-week; which if booked directly we can do for £595pp.
For 2-weeks the brochure price is on average £1020pp which if booked directly we can do for £865pp. These are naturally subject to flight availability.
Should there not be enough persons to fill a pot-luck yacht then these clients will be aboard one of our flotilla training yachts instead.
Please note that the following on-site cash payments apply:
There is an on-site cash payment of £70 per person for the Learn-to-Sail week (£110pp for two-weeks) to cover welcome starter pack; certification and log books; charter papers; all on-board expenses such as fuel, water, mooring charges; yacht damage waiver; end of charter yacht clean and bed-linen laundry. Students will put a kitty together to cover the cost of daily food for breakfast and/or lunch. This kitty - which shall also cover the instructor's portion - should normally cost about Euro 40 per person per week based on four students per yacht; depending on individuals' needs and requirements.
There is an on-site cash payment of £140 per yacht for a flotilla/bareboat week - £190 for two-weeks - to cover welcome starter pack, fuel; charter papers; end-of-charter yacht clean; bed-linen laundry and yacht damage waiver - please note that this is for damage and does not cover loss of large items such as dinghy/liferaft etc for which you are still liable and have to pay the replacement price before departure. For yachts over 40ft LOA these supplements increase by £50. Pot-Luck yachts will be charged £50 per person.
